John joined The Beach Boys full time in July of 2001. Check out the Beach Boys Band site.

When ask to build his dream band, Mike Love answered on funcoast.com "I'd like to have Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Paul McCartney, Marvin Gaye. It would kind of be a different group. David Marks, original guitar player with Beach Boys. John Cowsill as drummer and Brian Wilson on keys banding out the rhythm piano.
Former Beach Boy band member David Marks said "He's a great singer and musician and a great guy too"

After reading John's bio on the Beach Boys Band page, I had to think, "I know he's played in lots more bands, other than The Cowsills and The Beach Boys." (And it says John played with The Cowsills 1968-1999. I want to know who that cutie was, with sticks a flying, on Ed Sullivan in 1967 and who sang Cryin' and melted my Mom in 2000. LOL LOL) So I went a web seaching and found the following. I don't know what years he played in them, if this is the correct order, and I'm sure it's not a complete list. This is just a list, with the links where I found them. Following those are some other links I found mentioning John along the way.
