Helping Shear keep things lively are two guests returning from appearances on "Between Us." Shear's border collie Cargo, whose sharp barking is cleverly spliced into "Love With You" and Susan Cowsill, who sang the duet "Restaurant Scene" on "Between Us," sings backup throughout with former Bangle Vicki Peterson. "Susan and I go way back," says Shear. "In the late '70s, The Cowsills were recording at the same studio as Jules & The Polar Bears. The Cowsills would work during the day. Then Jules & The Polar Bears would mess up the studio all night."
