The irony was almost too much to bear: With the Beach Boys ready to celebrate the return of summer inside Mayo Civic Center arena Sunday afternoon, a spring snowstorm raged outside.

To compensate, the Beach Boys Sunday relied on the vocals of bassist Chris Farmer and guitarist John Cowsill (a member of the singing Cowsill family) to balance the incredible four and five-part harmonies that are so integral to the songs.
