Per the tour site,"The harmonious family act of brothers and sister Bob, Paul, & Susan Cowsill, who inspired the smash hit '70s television show, "The Partridge Family." This was a perfect way to begin the show. After The Cowsills greeted the crowd, they launched into one of the defining hits of the late 60's with "The Rain, The Park and Other Things." More commonly known as "The Flower Girl", the tune reached #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1967. After ironing out some initial audio kinks, the family band charmed the audience with other hits including "Indian Lake" and a rousing rendition of "Hair". A strong performance both musically and vocally!
Chaospin - July 14 - Tucson, Arizona
The Cowsills were energetic
Mike B. - July 31 - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
Gary Puckett and the Cowsills were the best! Gary can still hit every song and the harmony of the Cowsills is unmatched.

Band:
Manny Focarazzo - keyboards/vocals
Chris Camilleri - drums/vocals
Greg Smith (1st half) and Tom Flyntz (2nd half) - bass/vocals
Godfrey Townsend - guitar/keys/vocals/musical director
The tour traveled 5048.1 miles in June, 8877.3 miles in July and 7687.8 miles in August for a total of 21,613.2 miles in 78 days.
COVID was once again an issue for the tour. We know Godfrey Townsend (backing band) and Jules Alexander (The Association) were out at times with the virus.
To change the banter around a bit this year, the Cowsills are telling jokes. Susan: What do you call an alligator with a vest? An Investigator! Paul: How many baby-boomers does it take to change a light bulb? Zero. We don't like change. Bob: "I told my wife she needs to embrase her mistakes, . . . so she hugged me. Paul: Bob and Susan thought I needed to take an IQ test. So I did and I got the results back yesterday. I'M NEGATIVE!!! Susan: Knock, Knock Paul: Who's there Susan: Control freak Paul: Control Freak who? Susan: (interrupting Paul's Control Freak who?) Hold on, Hold on, Hold on. . . . At the end, the band holds up signs that say SHUT UP AND SING.
|
In years past, Paul has had three pins he wore on his vest (Peace, Love, and Far Out). This year he has added two and replaced another. He added a VW Wagon and a Groovy pin. The multi-colored Peace pin was replaced with a more white one.
|
|
As the tour went on, more pins appeared. A yellow one that says "Peace and Love" and a blue/purple one I can't see well. It appears to have a guitar in the center.
