Mrs. Reider

Mrs. Reider has been a part of Cowsill Nation as long as any of us "fans" have been. She was the mother of three superfans who were there big time from the beginning - Jo Malone, Diane Neiman and Cheryl Reider. I can't imagine how many concerts she was involving in driving too. And that's nothing compared to the amount of Cowsill talk she had to listen to over the years. (LOL)

When ToRI 2000 was coming to be, Jo and I decided to bring along our mothers so they could meet and commiserate about their daughters who would spent 4-6 hours a night talking Cowsills. Hence it was there I met her the first time. We got to meet up again in July 2001 when she welcomed me into her home for yet another Cowsill event - that being driving to Atlantic City to see John play his 2nd gig as a full time Beach Boy. Mrs. Reider joined us at that concert too. (See photo below)

Mrs. Reider was also involved in proofreading and assembly of the Cowsill Newsletters of the early 1990's.

Jo shared a couple fun Cowsill stories of her Mom as follows: 1. The Music Circus in Lambertville, New Jersey was a theatre in the round and had wooden benches. At one concert Mom and one of her friends were walking around and Bud was sitting on one of the benches. Her friend leaned over and said, "Hey that's Bud Cowsill." Mom - out loud - said, "Hubba, Hubba" to which Bud replied "Thank you very much." 2. When we'd be ironing and things around the house, there would always be Cowsill records on and we would sing along. Mom too. She knew the lyrics better than us kids. 3. Whenever we'd come home from trips - like from California - Mom always wanted to see all the videos we took. She watched them all.

All our parents were huge parts of our individual Cowsill stories and Mrs. Reider sure did her share. Thanks Mom!
