The Rain The Park and Other Things
(Artie Korneld, Steve Duboff) Lead Singer: Bill
I saw her sitting in the rain, raindrops falling on her.
She didn't seem to care,
She sat there and smiled at me.
Then I knew. She could make me happy.
Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere.
(Chorus)
I love the flower girl,
Oh I don't know just why, she simply caught my eye.
I love the flower girl, she seemed so sweet and kind,
She crept into my mind.
I knew I had to say hello.
She smiled up at me.
Then she took my hand and we walked through the park alone.
Then I knew she had make me happy.
Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere.
(chorus)
Suddenly the sun broke through,
I turned around she was gone.
And all I had left was one little flower in my hand.
But I knew, she had made me happy.
Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere.
I love the flower girl,
Was she reality or just a dream to me.
I love the flower girl,
Her love showed me the way to find a sunny day.

Dreams of Linda
(Harvey Price, Dan Walsh) Lead Singer: Bill
In a gingerbread house 'neath the willow tree,
By a peppermint brook flowing softly;
In a daze of love, cotton skies above,
As the clouds drift by, I breathe a sigh for,
Linda, (Dreaming of Linda), Linda, (Thinking of her).
A butterscotch sundae in July,
A strawberry rosebud catching my eye;
As the willow weeps, and the sparrow sleeps,
As the clouds drift by, I breathe a sigh for,
Linda, (Dreaming of Linda), Linda, (Thinking of her).
Every night spent dreaming of Linda,
Every minute of the day.
Every breath I take for Linda,
And I hope it always stays that way.
In a gingerbread house 'neath the willow tree,
By a peppermint brook flowing softly;
In a daze of love, cotton skies above,
As the colors fall, I can't help but recall.
My Linda, (Dreaming of Linda), My Linda, (Thinking of her).
Dreaming of Linda (Dreaming of Linda), My Linda, (Thinking of her).
Dreaming of Linda (Dreaming of Linda), Linda, (Thinking of her).
I'm dreaming of Linda (Dreaming of Linda),
Dreaming of Linda, (Thinking of her).
Linda (Dreaming of Linda).
oh oh Linda (Dreaming of Linda),
(repeat and fade)

Could It Be,
Let Me Know
(Artie Kornfeld, S. Duboff) Lead Singer: Bill
Yes I can tell that there's something going on.
Yes I can tell that the little boy is gone.
Psychodelically speaking,
Don't something enter my mind.
Could it be the first time that I found me?
Could it be your loving arms around me?
Yes I have been kissed before,
But never quite like this before.
If it's so, (if it's so),don't let go, (don't let go), let me know.
Yesterday maybe I would have run to hide.
But now I know that my place is by your side.
I thought I would keep searching,
But you were so easy to find.
Could it be the first time that I found me?
Could it be your loving arms around me?
I thought I knew life before,
But now I see there's so much more.
If it's so, (if it's so), don't' let go, (don't let go), let me know.
Closer, closer, closer, closer
Could it be the first time that I found me?
Could it be your loving arms around me?
I thought I knew life before,
But now I see there's so much more.
If it's so, don't let go, let me know.
Let me know.

Siamese Cat
(Regis Mull) Lead Singer: Barry and John
I love my Siamese Cat.
Because she's not very fat.
She leaps through the air,
And lands in a chair.
I know I couldn't do that.
So I love my Siamese Cat.
I watch when she wiggles her tail.
That's the way she tells me she's my gal.
I wiggle my toes,
And wrinkle my nose.
That lets her know I'm her pal.
So the two of us get along swell.
Her ears they wiggle to.
Which isn't so easy to do.
I stand in a mirror,
To try wiggling an ear,
But it's something that I can't do.
And I bet you neither can you.
I play with my Siamese cat.
And pretend I'm a Siamese rat.
I think she can't see,
But still she finds me.
My private eye Siamese cat.
Who knew, be fooled by a rat.
On her funny face is a spot.
Where she has as a great big black lot.
Some bigger make first,
Fell over her perch.
She should be all white and she's not.
Poor kitty is all that I got.
So me and my Siamese cat.
Will never grow old or get fat.
We'll run and we'll run,
Stay young and have fun,
Because it's so fun to do that.
Just me and my Siamese Cat.

We Can Fly
(Artie Kornfeld, Steve Duboff, Bill Cowsill) Lead Singer: Bill
See how the fluffy clouds move by us,
(See how the clouds move by)
See how the morning mist can hide us away,
And how the day is so much fun.
Isn't it groovy in a daydream,
(Dreaming today),
Doesn't the day seem like it could never end,
And so my friend, we're one.
Baby, it's funny, how I can feel so sunny,
When you're beside me,
We Can Fly.
Oh We Can Fly.
Hey, Mister Wind, just keep us sailing,
(We come sail along).
High in the sky there's no curtailing our fun:
So ev'ryone come on. Hey you on the ground,
Take a look up and see what we're found.
Nothing to tie us, bluebirds come up to guide us,
When you're beside me,
We Can Fly.
Oh We Can Fly.
We Can Fly,
Hey everyone on the ground, let's fly.

Mister Flynn
(Bill Cowsill, Bob Cowsill, Barry Cowsill) Lead Singer: Bill
Wearing the crinkled coveralls,
Waiting by the backstage door.
We're standing in the rain,
You won't let us in,
Till it's time for the show to begin.
Up at sunrise, traveled far,
Just to be here early.
Mother's still sitting in the car.
Let us in oh surely.
We always like to set up early.
We all know you, Mister Flynn,
Yes we know you.
We met your frown in every town,
No matter where we've been, we never see a grin.
We asked around and what we found,
Made us all feel badly.
We understand you had a band,
But it ended sadly.
You're entertained for many years,
But you never made it.
(Did you really try?)
And now you're holding back the tears, totally frustrated.
And now you're trying hard to hate it.
Well we all know you, Mister Flynn
Yes we know you.
We understand and sympathize
This state of mind your in.
We all know you Mister Flynn
(We all know you Mister Flynn)
We all know you Mister Flynn

Beautiful Beige
(Bob Cowsill, Bill Cowsill, Artie Kornfeld) Lead Singer: Bill
You told me, my friend, what's on you mind,
Now I'll tell you what's on mine.
Black is black and white is white,
You're so hung up on day and night,
Is it that important to you?
Can you let the dawn come shinin' through?
A searchin' hand says come and greet me,
Be a friend and don't defeat me,
You say that the day is lighter,
I say that the stars can be bright too.
Let Beautiful Beige come into your mind,
(Beautiful Beige come into your mind,)
Let Beautiful Beige come into your mind,
(Like it came into mine).
A violet in the field is growing,
You're afraid to touch not knowing
That it's petals cannot burn you,
Don't you think it's time you learn to love?
Your window sill is lined with lilies
And other white assorted sillies,
Planted within golden cups,
But is there any diff'rence up above?
Let Beautiful Beige come into your mind,
(Beautiful Beige come into your mind,)
Let Beautiful Beige come into your mind,
(Like it came into mine).
Let Beautiful Beige come into your mind.
(Beautiful Beige come into your mind.)
Let Beautiful Beige come into your mind,
(Like it came into mine).
Let Beautiful Beige come into your mind.
(Beautiful Beige come into your mind.)
(Beautiful Beige come into your mind.)

(Tony Romeo) Lead Singer: Bill
You take a bus marked Lakewood Drive,
And you keep on ridin' 'til you're out of the city.
Where the air is fine with the sweet smellin' pine,
And the countryside's pretty.
And you see daffodils, peepin' over the hills,
Or a honey lovin' mama bear.
Just take a left at the bridge, (left of the bridge)
Go down to Quakertown Ridge, (go to the ridge now)
And in a minute you're there. (in a minute you're there)

Harry O !!
She was waiting for him in the castle tower.
Hours slowly slipping by.

For the lackers will kill me lest I be his wife.

Painting The Day
(Barberia - Longa) Lead Singer: Barry
Painting The Day.
When I woke up,
All of the sky looked gray.
So I took my brush and painted the clouds away.
I'm just Painting The Day.
A little dab of sunshine,
Painting The Day,
Making it nice so children can run and play.
Coloring flowers so lovers can give bouquets.
I'm just Painting The Day.
I'm getting all my colors from the rainbow.
And making sure the world is filled with sunglow.
Painting The Day.
Pictures of love,
And giving them all away.
Here's one for you.
Blue skies instead of gray,
I'm just Painting the Day.
I'm getting all my colors from the rainbow.
And making sure the world is filled with sunglow.
Painting The Day.
When I woke up,
All of the sky looked gray.
So I took my brush and painted the clouds away.

Hair
(Rado/Ragni/MacDermot) Lead Singer: Bill
She asked him why,
Why I'm hairy guy.
I'm hairy noon and nighty night night.
My hair is a fright.
I'm hairy high and low.
But don't ask me why,
'Cause he don't know.
It's not for lack of bread,
Like the Grateful Dead.
Darlin...
Gimme a head with hair,
Long beautiful hair,
Shining, gleaming,
Streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there,
Shoulder length or longer.
Here baby, there mama,
Everywhere daddy, daddy.
Hair
(Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair,)
Grow it, show it,
Long as I can grow it,
My hair.
I let it fly in the breeze,
Then get caught in the trees.
Give a home for the fleas in my hair.
A home for fleas,
A hive for the buzzing bees,
A nest for birds,
There ain't no words,
For the beauty of the splendor of the wonder
Of my...
Hair
(Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair,)
Grow it, show it,
Long as I can grow it,
My hair.
I want it long, straight and curly, fuzzy,
Naggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy,
Shining, steaming, gleaming
Flaxen, waxen,
Knotted, polka-dotted
Twisted, beaded, braided,
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Mangled, dangled, spangled
And spaghetti! !!!!
Oh say can you see,
My eyes if you can,
Then my hair's too short.
Down to here,
Down to there,
Down to there,
Down to where
It stops by itself.
Don't never have to cut it,
'Cause it stops by itself.
Oh, gimme head with hair,
Long beautiful hair,
Shining, gleaming,
Streaming, flaxen, waxen
And won't you give me down to there,
Shoulder length or longer,
Here baby, there mama,
Everywhere daddy, daddy.

II x II
(David Ray credited, but really Bill Cowsill) Lead Singer: Barry
(Chorus)
We'll go two by two, Lord.
Open up the gate.
We know the rules, Lord .
Beg your pardon if we're late.
We love our brothers now.
What else is there to do?
But to head on down the long road,
Going two by two.
Takin' my good friend Joshua.
Takin' my mother and father too.
Cuz when I get to the end of my highway,
You know I want to be with you.
(Chorus)
I have cheated my lovers, Lord.
Sinned against many a man.
But I found out my satchel was empty, Lord.
Won't you fill it up again.
(Chorus)
But, I found out my satchel was empty, Lord.
Won't you fill it up, fill it up again.
(Chorus)
Head on down ---

I Really Want To Know You (Barry Mann, Cynthia Well) Lead Singer: Barbara
I want to look behind the mirror of your eyes.
And see the secret world. The world your words disguise.
The birthplace of your sighs.
I want to know the pain of all your secret fears.
And when you speak of them, the ones that no one hears,
I want to taste your tears.
I really want to know you.
I really want to know you.
I want to share the dreams you've never shared before.
And stand inside your soul and unlock every door,
And darling even more.
I really want to know you.
I really want to know you - to know you.
To love you.
I want to share the dreams you've never shared before.
And stand inside your soul and unlock every door,
And darling even more - even more.

Start To Love
(Bill Cowsill, Bob Cowsill, Judi Pulver) Lead Singer: Bill
When I walk by her window,
Does she know that I watch her?
Has she heard that I want her.
How do I start to love her?
Maybe if my friends knew her,
Someone could take me to her.
Tell her for me she's pretty.
How do I start to love?
When I see her, with all her friends in town,
Want to show her, that I'm alive and well when she's around.
How can I make her notice?
Know that her eyes are bluer?
How can I get close to her?
How do I start to love?
When I see her with all her friends in town,
Want to show her that I'm alive and well when she's around.
How can I make her notice?
Know that her eyes are bluer?
How can I get close to her?
Hard to begin to love.
It's so hard to begin to love.
Yes, it's hard to love.

Signs (Bill Cowsill, Bob Cowsill, Paul Cowsill) Lead Singer: Bob
(Need help with words in paraephesis !!!)
Hey you, traveler, I've been wondering,
Say can you tell me why people pass them by.
They don't read them, never heed them.
Hey listen to the signs you don't have to cry.
I keep 'a telling you and me,
Life is meant to be.
(One way to drive killing you
you killing me)
Stop sign, red light, one way, keep right,
Still half a million died on the road last year.
Bear, deer crossing, pheasant walking,
No time to stop the car, we killed it. Drop a tear. Drop.
Why can't they see? Signs were meant to be,
(A wonderful way for them to you from me.)
Don't run, don't splash, don't move, or pass,
Too many careless people never take dare glance.
Don't rest, don't swear, lifeguard nowhere,
So jump into the water.
Why not take a chance?
Oh I wish they'd understand,
That a sign never take command
It's a warning in disguise.
(Keep from giving all you can.)
Hey there, traveler, I've still wondering,
Say can you tell me why people pass them by?
Just listen to the signs you don't have to cry.
Hey listen to the signs you don't have to die.
Hey there traveler,
Can you tell me why people pass them by?
They don't read them, never heed them.

Goodtime Charlie
(Harvey Price, Dan Walsh) Lead Singer: Bill
Staring through the window,
Old man Charlie staring through the window.
He doesn't have a place to stay or a place to go.
He's thinking 'bout the ladies. Old man Charlies got his memories.
And the goodtime sweet like wine, just yesterday - just yesterday.
(Chorus)
Goodtime Charlie ain't had a good time in years.
Goodtime Charlie only tomorrow and tears.
But wait a minute, Charlie. You don't have far to go now.
Come the goodtime sweet like wine tomorrow - tomorrow.
(Chorus)
Charlie's look for (good time).
So wait a minute Charlie. You don't have far to go now.
Come the goodtime sweet like wine tomorrow - tomorrow.

Anything Changes
(Bob Cowsill, Paul Cowsill) Lead Singer: Paul
Poor old moon lost its lease.
Now it's just another piece of real estate.
Plane jumpers claimed their stake.
No longer history, end of a mystery.
It's made of rock and dust like you and me.
Landed in peace. For mankind, ease your mind,
Sorry indeed, so roll the tides, keep your pride.
Shine on me.
Man in the moon resigned.
Packed and left to work full time,
As Jupiter's lunar caretaker.
Leading a pleasant life,
Twelve moons and no moonlight, from Jupiter.
Landed in peace. For mankind, ease your mind.
Sorry indeed, so roll the tides, keep your pride.
Shine on me.
End of a fantasy. Lover's lie helplessly hoping for,
Another moonlit shore.
Moon walker what's your game?
Ride the heaven print your name on every star.
Don't go too far. For you may find,
A hostile outer space, if you try to spread the human race.

Silver Threads And Golden Needles
(Jack Rhodes, Dick Reynolds) Lead Singer: John
I don't want your lonely mansion,
With a tear in every room.
All I want's the love your promised
Beneath the silvery moon.
Well you think I could be happy
With your money and your name.
Just to hide my head in sorrow,
While you play your cheatin' game.
Silver threads and golden needles
Cannot mend this heart of mine.
And I dare not drown my sorrow,
In the warm glow of your wine.
You can't buy my love for money,
'Cuz I never was that kind.
Silver threads and golden needles
Cannot mend this heart of mine.
I don't want your lonely mansion,
With a tear in every room.
All I want's the love your promised
Beneath the silvery moon.
You can't buy my love for money,
'Cuz I never was that kind.
Silver threads and golden needles
Cannot mend this heart of mine.
Silver threads and golden needles
Cannot mend this heart of mine.

Night Shift
(Cowsill - Cowsill) Lead Singer: Bob
Evan by the light,
She waits to hear my shoes.
And through the night,
She reads the Street Lamp News.
You know she gets no news from me.
And when the morning comes, end of my day,
Dragging my way home.
I can feel the cold.
It whips across my face.
I think of her, she brings me back to days.
We laughed in warmer places then.
But still the morning comes, end of my day.
Lighting my way homeward.
But when I see her smiling,
Cuz I know that she loves me still.
I say we'll stay together,
Cuz I hope that we always will.
Don't leave my side, she might.
I work at night and Evan works by day.
And though I see her not at all,
She's got to know she's mine.
That's all.
You know she gets no news from me.
And when the morning comes, end of my day,
Dragging my way homeward.
But when I see her smiling,
Cuz I know that she loves me still.
I say we'll stay together
Cuz I hope that we always will.
And though I'm tired I say I'd wish you'd stay and talk to me awhile.
I smile and she tries not to look so sad.
She's off for work. I must be mad.
Evan, if you knew the things I'd like to say.
I'm here with you, though really I'm far away.
We'll try to find another way.
Another evening comes, end of her day.
Dragging her way home.

The Prophecy Of Daniel And John The Divine
(Remo Capra - rumored to actually be Bill) Lead Singer: Bill Spoken Words: Barry
And when they saw her rising, from the ocean,
A name was on her forehead Babylon, Babylon.
Six is the number, Six is the number of a man.
Six is the number, Six is the number of a man.
She was arrayed in purple and scarlet color,
And golden pearls, and in her hand,
She held a golden cup.
It's been written down to reveal,
Six is the mark of His seal.
It's been written to understand.
Six is the number of a man.
Six, Six, Six,
Six, Six, Six,
There's a revelation.
(spoken by Barry)
Then finally one day she was cast back into the sea from where she came.
So that she would never torment man again.
It's been written down in Revelation,
Daniel and John explanation:
When you read it you will find,
It's a sign of warning for mankind.
Six, Six, Six

Don't Look Back
(Barry Cowsill) Lead Singer: Barry
When you leave us far behind in the morning,
When you drive away from here,
Try to hold back all you tears.
And don't look back, baby, don't look back.
We will miss you when you go away from here.
We know you will miss us too.
Don't let all your sadness through,
And don't look back, baby, don't look back.
Reminisce about all the nice things we do, and what I meant to you.
And what life standed for then, and what it stands for now.
When you leave from here,
Return on the morrow.
Leaving all the things you cherish,
Please do something as you perish.
Don't look back, baby, don't look back. Back.

Father
(Bob Cowsill, Paul Cowsill) Lead Singer: Bob
Traveled for many years,
He traveled across the seas.
Great ships taking him far, far away.
Left her, so many times he left her.
The children waved good-bye.
Mom would always cried inside.
She cried, she had pride.
Upon returning home one day,
Bought a guitar for his sons to play.
Within a year we strummed and we sang.
Everyone smiled as the harmonies rang.
All through the house all the melodies sang.
Years passed, we found a home,
And at last a house across the lake,
Swing on a vine in the woods.
Ocean, but how we missed the ocean.
He said, "Pack up, we'll go back to the island our home."
He took us home.
He took us all home.
Once back home the music had grown.
Citizens waited in line to be shown.
The family group was good, all agreed.
But nobody helped out the man and his dream.
Everyone laughed at the man and his dream.
He walked for miles up and down New York streets,
Selling the songs on the taping in his sheeth.
Strange looks from record company heads.
"Later on you'll regret it", he said.
And later on they remembered he said.
Father, we'd like to thank you.
Father, and so we thank you.
Father, we'd like to say we love you.
