Love American Style
(Margolin, Fox)
Lead Singer: Bill

Love, Love,
Love, Love,

Love American Style,
Truer than the red, white and blue
Love American Style,
That's me and you.

And on a star-spangled night, my love,
You can rest your head on my shoulder.
While by the dawn early light, my love,
I will defend your right to try.

Love American Style,
Freer than the land of the free.
Love American Style,
That's you and me.

We pledge our love 'neat the same old moon,
But it shines red and white and blue now.
Upon this land of hopes and dreams, my love,
Where all I hope for its of thee.

Love American Style,
Truer than the red white and blue.
Love American Style,
That's me and you.

And this land of hopes and dreams, my love,
All I hope for its of thee.

Love American Style,
Freer than the land of the free.
Love American Style,
Truer than the red white and blue.

Love American Style,
Freer than the land of the free.
Love American Style,
Truer than the red white and blue.

Impossible Years
(Medress, Margo, Margo, Siegel)
Lead Singer: Bill

Impossible Years.
For you, not for me.
Impossible Years .
If you would only see,
There Ann's nothing you can do to change me.
You don't have to rearrange me.
And if it's all the same to you.
I'll be on my merry way,
And in time I'll see some things I don't believe today.
I'll be on my merry way,
And in time you'll find you've nothing more to say.

Impossible Years.
For you not for me.
Impossible Years.
If you would only see
I am traveling a different highway
And the only way for me is my way.
Oh don't you understand.

As I look upon tomorrow,
There are dreams I've had and dreams that I must borrow.
And tomorrow you will find me,
With a little more experience behind me.

Impossible Years
For you, not for me.
Impossible Years.
If you would only see,
There Ann's nothing you can do to change me.
You don't have to rearrange me.
I am traveling a different highway,
And the only way for me is my way.
Oh don't you understand.
(repeat)

Impossible Years.
For you, not for me.
(repeat and fade)

Poor Baby
(Tony Romeo)
Lead Singer: Bill

Poor baby, something always bringing you down
If you look for it, baby, there's so much unhappiness
all around

Don't cry your Daddy gonna buy your one way ticket to sunshine
Cheer up your, try to clear up your mind

Poor baby

Poor baby, try to feel better
Nothing's bad as it may seem
Poor baby under the weather
Try to close your eyes and dream

Think of the good times, just think of the good times
That we're gonna see

Poor baby

Poor baby, try to feel better
Nothing's bad as it may seem
Poor baby under the weather
Try to close your eyes and dream

Think of the good times, just think of the good times
That are gonna be

Now, baby

Don't fret your Daddy gonna fetch your one-way ticket to happy
Cheer up your, try to clear up your mind

Poor baby

Poor baby, try to feel better
Nothing's bad as it may seem

Poor baby under the weather
Try to close your eyes and dream
Think of the good times (good times), just think of the good times
That we're gonna see

Poor baby

Poor baby, try to feel better
Nothing's bad as it may seem
Poor baby under the weather
Try to close your eyes and dream

Christmastime
(Bob Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Susan

It's Christmastime,
A special time when all the world shares,
The wonder of the holiday.
With evergreens and caroling and logs by the fire,
The feeling that love is everywhere.

Now the snow falls so softly and silent tonight.
As it blankets a peaceful world.
Yuletide memories go drifting through my mind,
When it's Christmastime.

It's Christmastime,
And children everywhere hope and pray,
That dreams and wishes may come true.
For everyone there's greetings filled with seasonal cheer,
The joy saying Merry Christmas brings.

Now the snow falls so softly and silent tonight.
As it blankets a peaceful world.
Yuletide memories go drifting through my mind,
When it's Christmastime.

When it's Christmastime.

Is It Any Wonder?
Yellow Pills Vol. 1

(Bob Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Bob

Soon as she looked my way,
All I wanted to do was play,
That old love game.
Even though I lacked ability to change.

Man I was lonely.
And she was all I was looking for.
And I thought it was forever,
Then she said she was leaving, yes she had to go now.

(Chorus)
She don't want to love me anymore.
She don't want to be the heart that mine beats for.
Is It Any Wonder?

Well I had my way,
And there was nothing that she could say,
Could have change my mind.
I guess I was to set in my ways.

And though I'm not the first one,
To admit when things go wrong,
That I never saw it coming.
In the end she was everything I ever wanted now.

(Chorus)

I don' t know if I should laugh or cry.
What's the use in it now?
What am I suppose to do without her?
It's a little too much to ask anybody.

If I had a second chance,
You know I'd do it all so differently.
Oh but it's too late to think about
All the could have beens and should have beens
It wasn't suppose to happen.

(Chorus) repeat and fade

Some Good Years
Side B of Christmastime

(Bob Cowsill, Mary Jo Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Bob

Back in time there's a place I remember,
Feels so long ago.
Everything I imagined was in my reach,
Knew that it was going to last ever more.

(Chorus)
All I can say, yeah,
How the good shines through.
They were some good years.

It went on and on,
Just like a ocean.
Made you feel so good.
But then just like it rose and it was fallen.
Guess nothing last the way it should

(Chorus)

They were some good years

How the good, how the good,
How the good shines
How the good, how the good,
How the good shines
How the good, how the good,
How the good shines through.

How the good, how the good,
How the good shines,
How the good, how the good,
How the good shines,
How the good, how the good,
How the good shines through.

Wonder why I don't know pain and sorrow,
Even in my mind.
There must be some little room inside my heart for
Memories that I just can't leave behind.

(Chorus)

It's all I can say, How the good shines through------

They were some good, they were some good
They were some good years. I recall. I recall.

(repeat and fade)

You (In My Mind)
(Bill Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Bill

Now, I'm a shy one,
You made me that way.
Don't have to hide none,
I get to come out every day.
I play the sly one,
But you know all the time.
That' it's just a game in a dry run,
baby yeah
I got you in my mind.

(Chorus)
I got you, you, you in my mind.
All through, through, through my changin' line.
You've been true, true, true all this time.
I got you, you, you in my mind.

How did I find one?
How did you find me?
I couldn't buy one -
Well, she gives me her love from free.
She'll play a blind one,
Seeing all the time,
That she's just a game in a hot run,
baby, yeah
And it's you in my mind.

(repeat chorus twice and fade)

Candy Kid
(Tony Romeo)
Lead Singer: Paul

Feelin' so depressed I wasn't up to getting dressed,
It was a Saturday night and I decided against a party.
There was Christmas in the air and you could feel it everywhere,
And it kinda brought me down cuz I felt I just wasn't ready.

I headed on down to the center of town where folks were shopping around,
And all the colored lights were pretty.
And suddenly I could hear so loud and so clear such beautiful music,
and the rhythm was happy.

It was the Candy Kid from the mission on the Bow'ry.
A hobo Santa working for the Salvation Army.
Come drop a nickel in the kettle.
The Candy Kid will dance your troubles away.

Watchin' him move, people couldn't help but groove,
And they were clappin' their hands and singin'
"Come on Candy."

While we were caught in this flow,
It may have started to snow.
I don't know, I don't know,
My happy heart was diggin' Candy.

It was the Candy Kid from the mission on the Bow'ry.
Just a hobo Santa working for the Salvation Army.
Come drop a nickel in the kettle.
The Candy Kid will dance your troubles away.

Covered Wagon
(Danny O'Keefe)
Lead Singer: Bill

Get the lead out Mama,
Pack up everything we own.
The smog's about to get me,
And I got a mind to roam.

In my Covered Wagon,
Baby down the road we go.

Got an itch to ramble
Got no place to be.
The people in the city, surely,
Got no use for me.

In my Covered Wagon,
Baby down the road we go.
Yes in my Covered Wagon,
Baby down the road we go.

Baby down the road we go.

Headed for the country,
Ain't nothing keep me here.
I feel so free and easy,
Like a funky pioneer.

In my Covered Wagon,
Baby down the road we go.
In my Covered Wagon,
Baby down the road we go.

Down the road
Down the road oh ohed
Down the road
Down the road oh ohed

Down the road
Down the road oh ohed (repeat and fade)

Blue Road
(Bob Cowsill and Paul Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Bill

Woke up in Virginia,
On the road again.
Waiting for the letters,
The ones, I know you'll send.

Well I just left you Tuesday,
I know I should feel fine.
Well I can't wait to see you,
When I get home.

Won't go out to movies,
I like if we're alone.
Maybe then or later,
I'll call you on the phone.

Should I wait tomorrow,
I won't know what to do.
Well I can't wait to get home,
Where I can be with you.

Daydream while I drive,
See you at my side.
Guess there with you,
You must be lonely too.

Well darling when you're feeling down,
I'm always around.
Cuz I do love you.

Reminisce all over,
There's one more show to go.
By too lonely memories,
I leave em' on the road.

I wonder if you love me,
I wonder if it's fair.
Well I can't wait to get home,
And find that you're still there.

Cuz I do love you.
Yes I do love you.

Maybe It's You
(Bob Cowsill, Peter Bunch)
Lead Singer: Bob

Every morning, first thing when I wake up,
You start another fight.
You tell me every little thing that I do wrong.
I never seem to get it right.

It doesn't matter what I do or say,
It's just never quite enough.
You get down on every little detail,
You just won't let up.

Maybe it's you who should be thinkin' about listening.
Maybe it's you one time needs to give in.
Then you might find out what you've been missing.
Maybe it's you.

There's always something I've done to drive you crazy,
You always let me know.
You turn it into a bad situation,
Then you never let it go.

Well I don't know how much you think I'll take,
But I will take no more.
So just wait a minute, think before you start in,
I've heard it all before.

Maybe it's you who should be thinkin' about listening.
Maybe it's you one time needs to give in.
Then you might find out what you've been missing.
Maybe it's you. Maybe it's you. Yeah Maybe it's you.

Let me tell you I'm so tired of your imagination.
I don't know how you think like you do. (don't say)
You turn it all around.
You turn everything around.
You know that it's true.

Come on and let me see you be the first one,
To try and make it up.
You know we only got a little bit of time left,
Before we give it up.

Now don't you try to throw it back to me,
It comes down to you.
You better take another look at what you're doing.
You might learn something new.

Maybe it's you who should be thinkin' about listening.
Maybe it's you one time needs to give in.
Maybe it's you that never wants to make love.
Maybe it's you don't know what your missing.

Maybe it's you who should be thinkin' about listening.
Maybe it's you one time needs to give in.
Then you might find out what you've been missing.
Maybe it's you. Maybe it's you.

Shine
(Bob Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Bob

I get up every morning looking forward to the day,
That no kind of money could ever buy.
Gives a kind of feeling you can read about,
In any true story Hollywood file.

Got a hold of me, I don't wonder why.
The only thing I think about is you and me. I just

Shine, Shine, Shine
Shine, Shine, Shine

Now I'm on fire about the way that I've been feeling,
Just to know I can possibly go.
I'm with you evry step of the way to the top.
You and me on our way to #1.
Another turn to the left, to the right and the front.

Shine, Shine, Shine
Shine, Shine, Shine

Hold me, Hold me

Shine

Yeah I found our love and I'm glad that I found it.
And there's nothing going to get in it's way.
And it just stops you in your tracks when you think about it,
A love like this,
It doesn't happen every day.

Shine, Shine, Shine
Shine, Shine, Shine

Shine, Shine, Shine (I got love)
Shine, Shine, Shine (Love's all around me)

Shine, Shine, Shine (I got love)
Shine, Shine, Shine (Love's all around me)

All I Really Want To Be Is Me
JODA Record - Side A - First 45
(Bill Cowsill and Bob Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Bill

You got some imagination,
But a wild inclination.
You don't live for me,
But against me.
Always trying to repair me.
But you don't go, about it gently.

Why, why lovin' can't you see?
All I really want to be is me.

Lately if you took my mood,
Upper half your attitude.
Your complain when I'm raining,
Then you start you acuvating
You are never unreframing.

Why, why lovin' can't you see?
All I really want to be is me.

You invented hostile feelings.
??? from your healing.
My mind you are rearranging
Now you'll never ever change.
People bow in adoration.

Why, why lovin' can't you see?
All I really want to be is me.
Lovin' can't you see?
All I want to be,
Want to be is me.

All I want to be is me.
All I want to be is me.
All I want to be is me.

And The Next Day Too
JODA Record - Side B - First 45
(Bill Cowsill and Bob Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Bill

I'm in control.
You said goodbye.
Here's the reason,
I'll tell you why.

You left me yesterday,
Didn't need or hear you say,
You'd come back some way.
Do you do it, true or fake?
It's you, I'll wait for you.
Tomorrow and the next day too.

Then I'll tell you I'm feeling pain.
Well I am and I hurt so much.
I want your love again.
I need your tender touch.

So here I'll wait for you,
Forever and the next day too.

I go on wishing you'd come home.
But wishes don't come true, I go.

So tell you how I think it's wrong,
Like I told you once before.
That's why I sing this song,
I need you even more.

So here I'll wait for you,
Forever and the next day too.

So here I'll wait for you,
Forever and the next day too.
And the next day too.
And the next day too.

The Time Has Come
(Watchel)
Lead Singer: Bill

Look at you now, there's nothing left to hold you.
If he didn't care, at least he could have told you.

The time has come to love another,
You don't think that's right.
You would love it every night.

Saying it's love will only make it worse now.
The play is the same,
no need to rehearse now.

The time has come to love another,
Don't think that's right?
You would love it every night.

The time has come to love another,
Don't think that's right?
You would love it every night.

Look at you now,
You're laughing and you really mean it
Look at your eyes, you know you can't conseal it.

The time has come to love another,
Don't think that's right.
You would love it every night.

You would love it
You would love it every night
You would love it
You would love it every night
You would love it
You would love it every night

Le Opere Di Bartolomeo
(Cini - Bardotti)
Lead Singer: Bill

It Might As Well Rain Till September
(Gerry Goffin and Carole King)
Lead Singer: Susan

What should I write?
What can I say?
How can I tell you how much I miss you?

The weather here has been as nice as it can be
Although it doesn't really matter much to me
For all the fun I'll have while you're so far away
It might as well rain until September

I don't need sunny skies for things I have to do
'Cause I stay home the whole day long and think of you
As far as I'm concerned each day's a rainy day
So it might as well rain until September

My friends look forward to their picnics on the beach
Yes everybody loves the summertime
But you know darling while your arms are out of reach
The summer isn't any friend of mine

It doesn't matter whether skies are grey or blue
It's raining in my heart 'cause I can't be with you
I'm only living for the day you're home to stay
So it might as well rain until September
September, September, oh
It might as well rain until September

La, la, la, la,
La, la, la
La, la, la, la,
La, la, la
La, la, la, la,
La, la, la
La, la, la, la,
La, la, la

Mohammed's Radio
(Warren Zevon)
Lead Singer: Susan

Everybody's restless and there ain’t no place to go
Someone's always trying to tell them
Something they already know
So their anger and resentment shows

But don't it make you want to rock and roll
All night long
Mohammed's Radio
I heard somebody singing sweet and soulful
On the radio, Mohammed's Radio

You know, the Sheriff's got his problems too
And he will surely take them out on you
In walks the village idiot and his face was all aglow
He's been up all night listening to Mohammed's Radio

But don't it make you want to rock and roll
All night long
Mohammed's Radio
I heard somebody singing sweet and soulful
On the radio, Mohammed's Radio

Everybody's desperate and they’re trying to make ends meet
Work all day, still can't pay the price of gasoline and meat
Oh, their lives are incomplete

Oh but, don't it make you want to rock and roll
All night long Mohammed's Radio
I heard somebody singing sweet and soulful
On the radio, Mohammed's Radio

You've been up all night just listening for his drum
Hoping that the righteous might just might just might just come
I heard the General whisper to his aide-de-camp
"Be watchful for Mohammed's lamp"

Oh, don't it make you want to rock and roll
All night long Mohammed's Radio
I heard somebody singing sweet and soulful
On the radio, Mohammed's Radio

Now, don't it make you want to rock and roll
All night long Mohammed's Radio
I heard somebody singing sweet and soulful
On the radio, Mohammed's Radio

Annabelle
(G. Welch)
Lead Singer: Susan

We lease twenty acres and one Ginny mule
From the Alabama trust
For half of the cotton and a third of the corn
We get a handful of dust

We cannot have all things to please us
No matter how we try
Until we all go to Jesus
We can only wonder why

Well I had a daughter and I called her Annabelle
She was the apple of my eye
I tried to give her something like I never had
I didn't ever want to hear her cry

We cannot have all things to please us
No matter how we try
Until we all go to Jesus
We can only wonder why, oh why

When I'm dead and buried
I'll take a hard life of tears
From every day I've ever known
And Anna's in the churchyard, she got no life at all
She only got these words on a stone

We cannot have all things to please us
No matter how we try
Until we all go to Jesus
We can only wonder why
We cannot have all things to please us
No matter how we try
Until we all go to Jesus
We can only wonder why, wonder why, why

Crescent City Snow
(Susan Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Susan

Susan posted of this song on susancowsill.com on 4/18/06:
Did y'all know it snowed on Christmas Day 2004??? Well it did, first time in decades.

Snowed just enough to cover the city in a soft and quiet peacefulness that only a snowfall can bring. So I was layin awake one night in bed... thinking back on that day in December and then, about the day Katrina came, uninvited to our collective door. Quite a contrast to be sure.

But also a balance as in all of nature and in life. There will always be Peacefulness, gentleness and joy, as there will always be Sorrow, pain and untold suffering. The common thread??? We experience it together, we survive it together and we come out the other side, to carry on together. And that is, simply put, "Life."

So that's it, that's all, just one of many songs that have been, or will be written about the day our lives were forever changed. Singing this song makes me feel better, I'd like to spread some of that around.

Crescent City Snow is now available for download from our site. Give it a listen ...

peace,
Laissez les bon temps roulet
Susan

I feel like a kite without a string
Only my tail to guide me
Just paper and sticks and tattered sheets
Waiting on a friendly wind

Hold all our memories in one hand,
So tightly you won’t let ‘em go
And in the other hand we pray
That the wind and the panic and the rain
Will all turn to a soft and quiet snow

Long time ago when I was young
I used to know everything
Now it’s today and I am sure
That I don’t know anything at all

Hold all our memories in one hand,
So tightly you won’t let ‘em go
And in the other hand we pray
That the wind and the panic and the rain
Will turn to a soft and quiet, gentle, peaceful snow

When the saints go marching in
I'll be walking to New Orleans
Eating beignets at Du Monde
Singing Joni at the Carrollton Station
Hanging out in Jackson Square
Twelve o’clock, I’ll meet you there
Down on Frenchman with Big Chief
Trying to find a place to eat
Tailgating at the Dome
Man, I can't wait to go home.

Our precious hearts are all shattered
Scattered across the land
But I know that I am going back
To the place where I know who I am.

Hold all our memories in one hand,
So tightly you won’t let ‘em go
And in the other hand we pray
That the wind and the panic and the rain
All turn to a soft and quiet, gentle, peaceful
N O L A, Crescent City snow

Ahhhhh
Heeeyyyy
Ohhhhhhhh

Three AM at the Circle Bar
Where the $^%$ did we park the car?
Six AM at the Christmas Lounge
Where we had a $%$# of a time
That town where your grandma tell my grandma
While they sit by the fire
__________ down on Bourban Street
I can tell you where _______ your feet
And we all go down to the Audubon Zoo
And they all ask for you
And they say 'Who da' 'Who da'
'Who da say they going to beat them Saints'
'Who da' 'Who da'
'Who da say they going to beat them Saints'
'Who da' 'Who da'
'Who da say they going to beat them Saints'
'Who da' 'Who da' 'Who da'
Oh when them Saints come marching in
When them Saints come marching in
Yeah when the saints come marching in
And they say 'Who da' 'Who da'
'Who da say they going to beat them Saints'
'Who da' 'Who da'
'Who da say they going to beat them Saints'

Evergreen
(J. Tanner)
Lead Singer: Bill

Sometimes love will bloom in the springtime
And like flowers in summer it will grow
Then just fade away in the winter
When the cold winds begin to blow

But when it's evergreen, evergreen
It will last through the summer and winter too
When love is evergreen, evergreen
Like my love for you

So hold my hand and tell me
You'll be mine through laughter or through tears
Well let the whole world see, our love will be
Evergreen through all the years

For when it's evergreen, evergreen
It will last through the summer and winter too
When love is evergreen, evergreen
Like my love for you

Be Your Mother's Son
(B. Cowsill, P. Cowsill and B. Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Paul (even though it sounds like Barry)

Oooh baby

Be Your Mother’s Son
Be Your Mother’s Son
There’s no other one
Be Your Mother’s Son

Pack and send you on your way
You lead the same life day after day
You see the same sun she sees too
See momma think a lot of you

Ooooh you cry in the night time
She’ll be there to make you feel fine
I’ll be aware that you take mine
She’ll be _______ back in line

Be Your Mother’s Son
Be Your Mother’s Son
There’s no other one
Be Your Mother’s Son

Ooooh don’t know how she ticks now
She hangs on for the kicks now
Now it’s you she can keep down
But daddy’s about to get a hold on you

(But you wanna)
Be Your Mother’s Son
Be Your Mother’s Son
There’s no other one
Be Your Mother’s Son
Be Your Mother’s Son
Be Your Mother’s Son
Hey
Be Your Mother’s Son
Be Your Mother’s Son

Avenue Of The Indians
(Susan Cowsill)
Lead Singer: Susan

I can still hear the sounds of hammers
Echoing through the woods
As I stand in someone's driveway
Where our trees and tree forts stood
I can taste the yellow flowers
Bitter-sweet upon my tongue
On the Aveunue of the Indians
One for all and all for one

On the shores of childhood mystery
We signed our names in blood
We pledged our voices to the wind
Our loyalty to the sun
And the days ran on forever
'Til we heard a whistle blow
On the Aveunue of the Indians
Buried deep inside our souls

Ready or not, here I come
All-ly all in free (All-ly all in free)
Come on everyone

Come to the water
One for all, one by one
When will they call you
No one knows, ain't this fun!

Every curtains comin' to a close
Every story has it's end
I will never say goodbye to you
Just a 'Fair thee well my friend'
I won't worry how to find you
'Cuz I know just where you'll be
On the Aveunue of the Indians
Where we'll set our spirits free

Mason Dixon line anyone?
Well I can hear him comin'
Everybody run, oh everybody run

The World At Christmas Time
(Susan Cowsill / Russ Broussard)
Lead Singer: Susan

I can hear the angels sing on high, any given silent night
I see them float on heaven’s air, through the Crescent City light
They are by my side just in case I fall, every single day, it’s true.
At Christmas time the world sees that too.
(At Christmas Time)

The moon, the trees, the sun and clouds, there is magic to be found
A friendly word, a strangers voice can amaze you and astound
It’s magic when you smile at me, you don’t know my name, do you?
At Christmas time the world is magic too.
(At Christmas Time)
Yes, at Christmas time the world is magic too.
(World’s magic too)

Why, why was it so hard to see
It doesn’t have to be Christmas Eve
To believe there’s hope and faith and that is why
We have to try

At Christmas time

Why, why is it so hard to see
It doesn’t have to be Christmas Eve
For you to see the golden star up in the sky above
And see only love

At Christmas time

Babies cry in the streets and woe, we don’t even hear the sound
I feel like my hands are tied, feet cemented to the ground
I watch the scream, what does this mean?
Now I’m cryin’ too.
At Christmas time the world’s cryin’ too.
Yeah, At Christmas time the world’s cryin’ too.

Still I know the love is every where, I can feel it all around
I can feel it clear across the world, every city, every town
And I can’t wait for December days when it all comes shinin’ through
Cuz, at Christmas time the world feels love too.
(At Christmas time)
Yes, at Christmas time the world feels love too
(At Christmas time)
Oh, at Christmas time the world at Christmas time
(At Christmas time)
The whole world at Christmas time
(At Christmas time)
Whoa oh at Christmas time
(At Christmas time)
New hope
(At Christmas time)
At Christmas time
(At Christmas time)
My world at Christmas time

'Round The Bend
(Susan Cowsill / Russ Broussard)
Lead Singer: Susan

Note: Since there is no official recorded version, lyrics may vary from live performance to live performance.

Dancing on down the road
Treasure chest full of gold I had to put it down to take a breather

It’s a big load to be carried by one
Lend me a hand and I’ll make so much more fun
And besides we’ll have each other here to talk to

Cuz I want to tell you what’s been on my mind
And I know that you think that we’ve run out of time
Out of time, that’s in your mind

Seems though that like it’s been awhile
I’m really glad to see that smile
Cuz I know that it made you sad when you replace it

And I know you think it all went wrong
And I’m sorry that it took so long
For me to get to you in time to help you face it.

But everything that’s come and gone is meant to be
And tell everyone we loved hello from me
Hello from me Hello from me

And as for me I’m kickin’ back, I’m doing time
And I wouldn’t change a single hour, a single minute, I’m feeling fine.
Cuz it’s still mine

ba ba ba ba ba ba bamm
ba ba ba ba ba ba bammmm
ba ba bummm

And there’s so much that you don’t know still meant to be
And I can’t wait for you to find out what I’ve found out
Wait and see, just wait and see

ba ba ba ba ba ba damm
wa ba ba ba ba ba baaam
ba ba bummm
da da da da da da dam
ba dah da da dammm
ba dah dum
ba ba ba ba ba ba da bum

Take a left down at the end of this road
You see we’re getting pretty close to home
And I want you to be brave when we part ways here

And you remember everything I said
I’ll come around now and then when you rest your head
No more drowning in your tears when you’re reminded

And I’ll leave you now with this thought to hold
Oh we were carrying was so much more than gold
And I’m glad we had the chance, this time to spend
Cuz we’re never really gone, just round the bend
Round the bend, round the bend

The Mississippi
(Ray Ganucheau / Carlo Nuccio)
Lead Singer: Susan

Muddy water rolled right past my door
But somehow I never noticed it
Kind of sad I had to move this far, for it all to make sense

I miss my family and I miss my friends
And I’m sure someday I’ll get back to them
Lay a blanket on the levys’ end. It’s an all and all old friend.

Waters rising on the batture
The tug boats singing through the rain
My Aunt Sophie she shook hands with a eddy just outside of Destrehan
On the Mississippi
On the Mississippi, she was heard singing …
M I crooked letter crooked letter I crooked letter crooked letter I humpback humpback I

Mrs. Betsy back in ‘65
She pushed the old man across the battle field
My Pa Joe went down to St. Bernard, just to make sure he had his last meal.

Throwing shots back at the Saturn Bar.
Drinking whiskey from a go geaux cup.
The world is slipping down a _____ and pretty soon it’s going to beat us all up.

Waters rising on the batture
The tug boats singing through the rain
My Aunt Sophie she shook hands with a nanny as she tried to swim across
Across the Mississippi, yeah, yeah she tried to swim across the Mississippi

Waters rising on the batture
The tug boats singing through the rain
My Aunt Sophie she shook hands with a eddy just outside the Destrehan
On the Mississippi
She was trying to swim across the Mississippi and we could still hear her singing

M I crooked letter crooked letter I crooked letter crooked letter I humpback humpback I
M I crooked letter crooked letter I crooked letter crooked letter I humpback humpback I
