Bob answered the following back in Feb 1999. about the chords........"Yes...( to Joe Comer's comments of "If you're playing in the correct key, C minor, your first chord at the bridge would be G major ("I want it long . . ."), then the next lines (sung by Barbara?) are in C major, and then the whole family's lines ("Knotted, polka-dotted") are in F major. The line ending with "spaghetti" ends on B-flat major, and the "Oh say can you see" part begins in E-flat major and ends on B-flat majoragain. Then back to C-minor ("Down to here, down to there"). The line "Stops by itself, don't never have to cut it", etc, is B-flat major, and then back to the chorus in C-minor. There are some slight chord variations to the above, like suspended 4ths and sevenths, but if youfind the root note/chord, you can figure out those little additions easily. BTW, I believe the guitar part is played with a capo on the third fret, so a guitarist would actually be playing as if in the key of A minor, but the chords would "sound" in C-minor. Bob may be able to confirm this, since he and the Core Four still play the song now and then thankfully, for us fans!"). .... those are correct. The only change would be that in the bridge (I want it long....etc.) they're suspension chords. The suspension goes back and forth (long straight=G-sus where curly fuzzy would be straight G then snaggy shaggy in G-sus and ratzy matzy straight G and follow the same movements on the C and F chords. My daughter said if you do a search of Broadway Musicals one of the site is lyrics/chords and she found "Hair" there."
wolf@1728.com adds on 9/1/03 "Yes, I realize that the chords have the Broadway lyrics instead of the Cowsill lyrics but an important point that no one has mentioned is the Cowsill version ending. You know those powerful 3 ending chords? Well they are Cm Bflat and G." ---Thanks! bap
