Pink Slip

Pink Slip started as an all-girl band - formed by Sue Ford - that has performed at every Mardi Gras since 2000. According to Offbeat Magazine, it was “Mardi Gras’ first rock band.” It’s even been called ‘punk rock.’ I’ve seen it described as a 7-piece and an 8-piece band. The band performs in parades – some lasting five hours long.

There have been many members of this group over the last 15 years and in fact, men now also grace their stage.

What songs will you hear them do? Tommy James and the Shondell’s “Draggin’ The Line” Madonna’s “Vogue”, David Bowie’s “Fashion”, Wars’s “Cisco Kid,” ZZzz Top’s “Sharp Dressed man,” U2’s “Get On Your Boots”, Rose Royce’s “Car Wash,” Loverboys “Working For The Weekend”, DiNOLA’s “Vaporizer,” The Byrds’ “So You Wanna Be A Rock N’ Roll Star, “Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” The Runaways “Cherry Bomb” to name a few.
