What started as a family sing-along turned into a hit recording and entertainment group.

The Cowsills, five talented children and their able parents, progressed in the world of pop music from obscurity to the top in 1967, when they exploded into national mucical consciousness with their first MGM album "The Cowsills." They went on wtih five more albums, and the group now is acception as having made a sizeable dent in the hard business of hard rock.

With a name like "Tlhe Cowsills", they had to be good.

The group consists of parents, Bud and Barbara and younsters, Bob 21; Paul 18; Barry, 16; John, 14; and Susan 11. There are seven children, but "only" five perform with the combo.
