Tieing in the music industry with radio and tv, some 10 new companies have been formed here in the past month to film new tunes by pop groups for free distribution to tv stations around the country.

Among groups filmed by Charlatan (Productions) are The Animals, The Cake and The Cowsills. Single shot top production price is $3,000, (Tom) Rounds said, with disk companies and occasionally groups' managers laying out the coin and providing any unusual sets, costumes, etc. The diskeries pay the performers for the promotion films.
