COWSILLS: "II X II" (MGM). America's rocking family, The Cowsills have put together a versatile set of commercial rockers that makes excellent use of their vocal abilities. "Night Shift" focuses on their harmonics while "I Really Want To Know You" features a smooth solo performance. The instrumental work, though highly derivative, reinforces the voices, with a firm lead guitar leading the way. Other highlights are "Sign," "The Prophecy of Daniel And John The Divine" and the title track.
