The move to convert single disks to compatible stereo grooves has been given a boost by MGM Records which introduced it's "saturation sound" platters to the convention of National Assn. of Record Merchandisers here over last weekend. The MGM disks can play both on stereo and existing monaural phonographs.

MGM tested the system, developed by Howard Holzer of the Haeco Co. of Los Angeles, last month by servicing all radio stations, both AM, FM and stereo with a Cowsills platter,"In Need of A Friend." All future singles on MGM and associated labels will be produced in the same system. Price of the new stereo singles will go up to $1.
