Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Paul Anka, Dionne Warwick, Wilson Pickett, Bobbie Gentry, the Sandpipers, and the Cowsills are entered in the Feb. 1-3 San Remo Song Festival, each partnered with an Italian pop artist in the annual song race. Lionel Hampton will also be on hand in a special act, doing a vibraphone turn for each of the 24 songs in competition.

The Cowsills (like Sonny & Cher last year) will carry a double load. For a tune called "The Works of Bartolomeo," they will share the San Remo stage with Italo-based British combo The Rokes and will, in all likelihood, also pair with Ornella Vanoni in presenting the Don Backy tune, "White House."
