The Hard Rock Café has arrived in Vancouver, in a giant 12,000-square-foot (1,115-square meter) space at 688 West Hastings. The Hard Rock is renowned for its collection of rock-and-roll memorabilia: among the items scattered around the other Canadian outlets are John Lennon’s Beatles suit, Elton John’s platform heels and guitars from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards and Bob Dylan.

Hard Rock Vancouver owner Tom Goodchild says he will be rotating different items (such as Elvis Presley’s martial arts suit and Madonna’s panties) on the walls of the Vancouver location. Alas, there doesn’t appear to be much local memorabilia. To help him out, here are a few suggestions of key artifacts culled from Vancouver’s glorious musical history.

Billy Cowsill’s El-Kabong guitar. When riled by an ornery audience member, the Blue Shadows singer has been known to crown the offender with his trusty acoustic guitar.
