The Cowsills
MGM Stereo SE-4554

The Cowsills have been described as "the America of Andy Hardy NOW, the corner drug store and apple pie, freckled-faced 1968 America with a turned up nose." Their story is the story of a family music group that is becoming popular on an international scale. It all started when their father, a Navy man, brought home instruments from different countries.

The kids weren't forced to learn to play, but they did. The boys formed a trio, and gradually the other members of the family "got into the act."

The Cowsills' biggest hit so far, "Indian Lake," is featured on this MGM album, along with "Captain Sad and his Ship of Fools" (watch for it's unusual beginning) "Painting the Day", and others - many of them written by the talented Cowsills.
