In a summer that seems to be full of old groups reuniting – Simon and Garfunkel, the Guess Who, the Band, and the Animals, to name four - spare a thought for the "revival" acts.
That's names like Bo Diddley, Del Shannon, and the Shirelles, who played on a triple bill Friday and Saturday at the Commodore.

Too often, though, the act ends up being backed by a local pickup band who have never played together before and sound as if they couldn't play anyhow. And that's where this show was different.
Billy Mitchell's Trainwreck, who also opened the show, were a perfect choice, providing solid instrumental support and a whole lot of enthusiasm that really made the evening cook.
Kudos to guitarists Billy Cowsill and Lindsay Mitchell, bassist Elmer Spanier (pity he had to put away the standup bass after the band’s solo set), drummer Christ Nordquist, and keyboardist Bill Sample.
