As the former lead guitarist with Sheryl Crow, Todd Wolfe has received a lot of attention. After a five-year stint in that group, from 1993 to 1998, he's on his own with his band, Under The Radar, and has four blues-tinged CDs out and a fifth in the works.
And he's coming to Maine to perform at the Unity Centre for the Performing Arts tonight.
In a recent telephone interview, Wolfe talked about his band and that new release he has been working on that features some special guests. Susan Cowsill, from the 1960s pop band The Cowsills, appears on a track titled "California."
"Ever since I heard her singing backup in a California band, I've been a fan of Susie and when she came to New York with (a) CD of her own material, I've been trying to champion her CD and shouting about it from every mountaintop," said Wolfe. "I was very pleased when she said she'd like to sing on 'California' which," Wolfe added, "is a song I wrote with Sheryl Crow years ago.
