The Cowsills, the singing family that has become one of the nation's leading pop-rock groups, will perform the title song for ABC-TV's innovative Love, American Style series, premiering in September (Mondays, 10 to 11 p.m., PDT).

Lyrics for the song were written by Arnold Margolin, co-executive producer of the series, and the music was composed by Charles Fox, who will write an original score for each episode.

A record of the song will be released in the fall.
