Cowsills Join Eddy Arnold Show

Everybody gets into the act with the Cowsills, popular family rock group which burst into the public ear during the past year with their recording of "The Rain, the Park and Other Thing"” and "We Can Fly."

They will be featured with signing star Eddy Arnold in his show at 8 p.m. Friday at Roberts Stadium.

There are five brothers in the act - Bill, Bob, Barry, Paul and John - the mother Barbara, and nine-year-old Susie.

Offstage, but an integral part of the Cowsill act are father Bud, who is general manager and sound man, and brother Dick, who is road manager and lighting man.

The Cowsills, who began with the five brothers singing mostly for their own amusement, then joined by mother and sister to provide entertainment around their own community, got off to a flying professional start with the recordings. Followed by 10 guest shots for Ed Sullivan and their first album, the Cowsills now have an European tour under their belts.

Bob and Bill also double as songwriters and wrote half of the songs on the first album, almost all on the second, "We Can Fly" album and the recent single, "In Need of a Friend."
