"It really gave me a sense of responsibility more than anything else. There was a vast auditorium with about 500 people sitting in it. Each one was watching closely," said young Browning Bryant.

. . .

Browning, Charlotte-based pop singer, was talking about his week-long visit in New York, where he spent Monday through Wednesday rehearsing for Thursday's taping of NBC Television's "Kraft Music Hall."

. . .

The show, hosted by pop singer Eddy Arnold, features Browning on equal billing with Polly Bergan, The Cowsills, and Jackie Vernon.

. . .

And he did. Only one take was necessary for Browning's segment of the show. That included a solo, a duet with Arnold, and the novelty commercial lead-in sung with 9-year-old Susan Cowsill.
