New Album
August 25, 1968 The Cincinnati Enquirer Cincinnati, Ohio
The Cowsills, a popular family group of nine, gives out with 12 fantasy folksongs (four of which are their own compositions) in "Captain Sad and His Ship of Fools" (MGM). The ever-present tambourine set to rock and roll makes all the songs sound somewhat alike. Perhaps the charm of the gruop is in its natural sound and lack of sophistication, "Can't Measure The Cost of a Woman Lost" is the mos impressive of the songs in this MGM album.
