ABC-TV scheduled its rock-roll special (with a dozen rock-groups) at the Nevele in the Catskills to save studio production costs - then had to build a replica of the Nevele's nightclub in its N.Y. studio because The Rascals, The Cowsills and the 1910 Fruitgum Co. wouldn't travel upstate for the special.
