Blue Dogs, Continental Drifters
January 14, 2000 The Atlanta Journal Atlanta, Georgia
Roots rock and pop grass is how the Charleston, S.C., band Blue Dogs awkwardly describes its headlining set at Variety Playhouse. And for openers, we've got an amalgamation of folks enjoying a second act in the business. The Continental Drifters comprises Susan Cowsill, former child star of the 1960s family band the Cowsills ("Hair"); her husband, Peter Holsapple, founder of the '80s act the cB's and occasional keyboardist-guitarist for R.E.M.; and ex-Bangle ("Manic Monday") Vicki Peterson.
