The Cowsills was the name of the late '60s family/pop group that had hits with "Hair," "Indian Lake" and "The Rain, the Park and Other Things" (that last one is a great song, by the way). The success of the singing family inspired the "Partridge Family" TV show of the same period. Family matriarch Barbara Cowsill died January 31 at the age of 56 following a long illness.
