Ames Ia. - Iowa State University'snew $5 million auditorium, built on the site of what was the school's hog farm and already dubbed "The Flying Nun" by students, will open for business Saturday.

First performers to appear will be the Cowsills and the First Edition, pop singers. Their volume likely will require little of the services of the auditorium's $85,000 sound system, according to director of concerts Alvin Edgar.
