The New Jersey State Fair is 81 years old this year, but the accent is on youth.

Free granstand attractions include such teen-age favorites as The Cowsills, a group of five youngsters and their mother who have risen to the peak of popularity with the younger set.

Fred Keil, fair manager, said the Sunday night appearance of "The Cowsills," is responsible for the change of hours.

"First we had The Cowsills for Saturday, then it was changed to Sunday and we've had so many inquiries about them, we decided to stay open Sunday night. The Cowsills, like the other grandstand acts, are free attractions and we expect them to bring a lot of people to the fairgrounds," said Kell.
