The summer may be awhile off, but there will certainly be a warm-weather vibe at the Commerce Bank Arts Centre in Sewell Saturday when the Beach Boys take the stage. While the current incarnation of the band only features two members from the Boys' 1960s hey-day -- Mike Love and Bruce Johnston -- the energy, sounds and oh-so-familiar harmonies coming from the stage will seem pretty close to the original thing.
. . .
Besides Love and Johnston, other members of the current Beach Boys lineup include John Cowsill (who baby boomers may remember as a member of The Cowsills, a real-life family band that became the inspiration for "The Partridge Family"), Tim Bonhomme, Chris Farmer, Mike Kowalski, Randell Kirsch and Scott Totten. Two of the founding Wilson brothers -- Dennis and Carl -- have died; Brian Wilson, the group's undisputed creative genius, has bowed out of the current tour. (He's been embroiled in legal conflicts with Mike Love, his cousin, for years, but they seem to be on better terms recently).
