The Warner Brothers animated film characters, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote and Yosemite Sam will be starred “live” in “The Bugs Bunn Show,” at the Arena Friday, Saturday and next Sunday. Featured with them will be the Cowsills, a family singing group, and comedian Charlie Callas.
. . .
The Cowsills were started by Bob and Bill as a guitar-singing duo to amuse their own family, occasionally performing at hometown functions in Newport, R.I. Barry joined them on drums, later switching to bass guitar when John became drummer. The quartet graduated to high school and college functions. In 1967 they persuaded their mother, Barbara, to join them, and later so did a sister, Susan, now 11. Bill left the group but Dick took his place, so now there are six.
They got into recording five years ago and made two singles selling over 1,000,000 platters each. They made four best-selling albums and a single of “Hair,” which sold 2,000,000. They have made many appearances on a score of television shows and played the Flamingo in Las Vegas.
