The ex-drummer (Doug Wellman) of the rock group Bee Gees is now a seaman undergoing recruit training at the Naval Training Center here.

Wellman is the second pop figure to enter Recruit Training Command this year. Last summer, Paul Cowsill, one of the singing 'Cowsills' whose hits include "We Can Fly" and "Poor Baby," completed training and is now a Navy dental technician.
