Patrons of Studio
City English
pub The Fox and
Hounds are familiar
with Bob Cowsill,
who plays
there regularly
with his band. The
Cowsills are the
musical family
that inspired the
show the “Partridge
Family”.
The Cowsill kids probably would have
starred in the show if their controlling
father had not alienated almost everyone
in show business. Sister Susan Cowsill
was recently living in New Orleans,
and lost her home, her gear and archival
Cowsills memorabila in the flood there,
just prior to the start of the tour to promote
her new album, “Just Believe It.”
Added to that trauma is the fact that
brother Barry Cowsill, the only other
Cowsill to live in New Orleans, remains
unaccounted for. Susan and her band’s
bravery and humor in the face of it all
are impressing fans on her current tour.
At a recent show she was playing with
a guitar and amp given to her by Jackson
Browne in response to the disaster.
Although all copies of the new CD were
lost in the flood, hopefully she will have
more by the time she plays at McCabe’s
in Santa Monica on October 21.
