The Popular Cowsills will appear at the First Annnual Light Automobile Show March 3-8 at the Convention Center Exhibit Hall.

One of the country's most popular singing groups, the Cowsills, will headline the entertainment at the First Annual San Antonio Light Automobile Show.

The show, co-sponsored by The Light and the San Antonio Automobile Dealers Association, will be held in the Convention Center Exhibit Hall March 3 - March 8, with admission prices of $1.50 for adults and 50 cents for children under 12.

. . .

The entire Cowsill family - mother, father and seven youngsters - take part in a vocal entertainment act which first gained national fame through appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show. Not all the members appear on stage, however. Father Bud is the group's business manager and sound technician and brother Dick is road manager and lightening technician. Mother Barbara and the baby of the family, Susan, are the only females in this big family. The other five boys are Bill, Bob, Paul, Barry, and John.

Were Naturals

The Cowsills are a multi-talented family whose act evolved spontaneously through the years. Father Bud traveled the world during his 20 years in the Navy and with each trip home brought the kids a different musical instrument just for fun.

The boys were naturals, and the first family act featured Bill, 17, and Bob, 16, on guitars and Barry, 11, on drums. Gradually, the trio became quartet, ten quintet and finally the whole family got into the act when 8-year-old Susie belted out such numbers as "Sweet Talkin' Guy," "Hello, Hello," and "To Sir With Love."

The two oldest boys, Bill and Bob, are also talented song-writers. They wrote half the songs in the second album, "We Can Fly."

The close-knit fun-loving family, the Cowsills' enthusiasm is infectious wherever they go. Their success in the demanding sometimes hard bitten and heart-breaking, world of show business, has given a fresh new look to the music industry.
