Barbara C. Cowsill,
56, one of the members of teh 1960s soft-rock band The Cowsills, died Jan. 31 in Tempe, Ariz, after a long illness. The cause of death was not reported.
Mrs. Cowsill teamed up with her daughter and five of her sons to form the singing group while the family was living in Middletown, R.I. Between 1967 and 1970, they recorded several hit songs, including "The Rain, the Park and other Things," "Indian Lake," "We Can Fly," plus the title song for the rock musical "Hair."
