Little Susan Cowsill stole the show Sunday night as the Cowsill family performed in the Pensacola Municipal Auditorium.

The Spring Concert, sponsored by the Popular Entertainment Committee of the University of West Florida, with the aid of the brothers of Phi Alpha Epsilon fraternity, drew a crowd which filled about half the auditorium.

Opening the show with one of their recordings, “Try A Little Kindness”, the Cowsills sang such songs as “Indian Lake,” “We Can Fly”, and “Hair.”

Susan Cowsill, the youngest member of this singing family, danced around on stage through every number, often beating a tambourine against her side as her brothers, Bobby, Barry, Paul and John sang their million-seller hits. Their mother, Barbara, is also a member of the group and was featured with a few slower ballads.

“Cruel War,” a folk ballad, was dedicated to their brother, Dick, who is serving in the Armed Forces.

Susan took the lead with “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” and “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.” Later in the show her brother, Barry, dressed in red long underwear and an “Uncle Sam” hat, imitated Mic Jagger of the Rolling Stones.

The Cowsills’ Dad, manager of the group, served as sound technician for the concert.

Dick Gendreau, student activities director for UWF said the audience included many persons younger than college age. The concert was opened to the public.
