The singing family group the Cowsills began hitting home runs with their music in 1969 when they recorded the title song from the Broadway musical Hair. Since then, they have had a Gold single, The Rain, the Park and Other Things, which was featured in the movie Dumb and Dumber. The Cowsills who inspired the TV series The Partridge Family, is known for harmonizing popular melodies. The group lost two of its original member in recent years. Bassist Barry Cowsill, 51, died in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and guitarist William, 58, died in 2006 after an illness.
On Saturday the Cowsills perform two shows at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Stuart, at 5 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $25-$30.
