Remember the Cowsills? How about Billy Cowsill?
Several Years ago, while ‘America’s First Family of Music’ was enjoying the height of their success, Billy opted out.
As Neil Young quipped, "Billy left the middle of the road and headed for the ditch".
Cowsills’ road took him to Los Angeles, Oklahoma, Lubbock, Austin and eventually Vancouver.
Things are beginning to come around for the former teenage idol with the release of his band’s (The Blue Shadows) debut album, ‘On the Floor of Heaven’. The Columbia disc features 12 original songs.
The Blue Shadows call their sound ‘Hank goes to the Cavern Club’, referring to Hank Williams and Liverpool’s Cavern Club where the Beatles began their career.
‘On the Floor of Heaven’ marks the beginning of Billy ‘Bud’ Cowsill’s dream of combining the honest emotion of Country with the passion of Rock and Roll.
With this recording and his new band, Bud’s finally journeying down the right road.
