Non-Singing Cowsill Gets Probation For Narcotics

Richard J. Cowsill, 22, of Halidon Hall on Halidon Avenue, a non-singing member of the Cowsills, a nationally-known singing family from Newport, pleaded no contest in Districk Court yesterday to three charges and was placed on probation for one year.

He had been charged with maintaining a narcotics ??? at 1 Sunshine Court last Dec 25, possessing stolen goods values at $2100 and possessing a car without intent to steal owned by Alexander Motors Limited Inc. on Admiral Kal??? Road January 18.

The charge of maintaining a ??? nuisance was amended to frequenting a narcotics nuisence, and the value of the stolen goods was amended to $450, making the offense a misdemeanor, rather than a felony.

Judge Paul J. Del Nero placed Cowsill on one year's probation on the three charges, to be served concurrently
