The Chattanooga Downtown Partnership continues the 2006 Nightfall Concert Series this Friday at Miller Plaza featuring Susan Cowsill.

Ms. Cowsill made her initial mark on popular culture at the tender age of eight with The Cowsills , the ‘60s family pop group that not only scored several Top Ten singles including Hair, but also served as the real-life inspiration for TV's fictional Partridge Family.

During Ms. Cowsill's decade with roots-pop supergroup The Continental Drifters, she won the hearts of discerning listeners with her impassioned vocals and personally-charged songwriting, gracing three widely-acclaimed albums and a decade’s worth of riveting performances.

Ms. Cowsill’s debut solo album, Just Believe It, was released in 2005 and is drawing raves for its heart-on-a-sleeve, insightful songwriting. The album blends Mersey-esque ringing guitars with Ms. Cowsill’s seasoned vocal prowess, proving that patience and perseverance are rewarded.

Opening act No Big Deal will take the stage at 7 p.m. followed by Susan Cowsill at 8 p.m.

Nightfall has been bringing an eclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz, reggae, zydeco, funk, bluegrass and folk music to Downtown Chattanooga for the past 18 years. Local musicians take the stage at 7 p.m. to get the crowd ready for headline performances by national and international talent, beginning at 8 p.m.
