The Crusaders had a four first down drives in progress when they fumbled on Middletown's 30 in the third quarter. Middletown recovered on the 13, but it was forced back and on a poor center snap, punter Bob Cowsill had to run. He missed a first down by a yard and De LaSalle took over on Middletown's 30.

The Middletowners were out-classed but good individual performances were turned in by Tom Ort, Bill Toppa, Craig Clarke, Leon Brooks and Bob Cowsill.
