United Van Lines captured the first half Fifth Ward Little League championship last night as it nipped Fraternal Order of Police, 4-3. In Middletown, Supply School remained undefeated in teh second-half as it dumped Officers Canidate School, 11-2.
Andy Walker laced a home run and double, Sullivan and Paul Cowsill a double and single each and Garrett and Healy two singles each for the winners. Breen had a double and a single for the OCS while MacKinnon had a pair of one-baggers.
Cowsill hurled for the winners. He allowed six hits, fanned five and walked the same number. Breen was the loser, giving up 12 hits and fanning three.
