Back in the day of Yaz, the Monkees and Apollo astronauts, there was a little shop on Main Street in Hyannis called the Record Room. I'd go there to spend my paper-route money on 45s by the Cowsills and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Even though I was only 8 or 9 and I was surrounded by teenagers buying Beatles and Hendrix albums, I felt welcome there. If you liked pop music, it was the place to go to hear new music and get some listening advice from the owner.
