The return of the “New Cowsills” headlines this weekend of live musical entertainment at Knott’s Berry Farm, which also includes Glen Ash and Bobby Vinton.

The “New Cowsills” appear tonight while popular vocalist Bobby Vinton is the star Saturday evening and comedian-singer Glen Ash appears Sunday.

The Cowsill family rock group is modifying its name with “new” because the members have retired their mother from the group and have changed their image slightly.

Taking advantage of the current surge of popularity toward country music, the four Cowsill brothers have mixed their own blend of country-rock music.

But when they appear in the John Wayne Theater at 6:30, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. today, they promise to sing all the best of their past hits, such as “The Rain, The Park and Other Things,” “We Can Fly” and “Hair. They will be blending in their new sounds as well.
