DEKALB - The family that sings together and swings together, The Cowsills, will perform two concerts Nov. 22 for Northern Illinois University audiences.
The group, whose popularity began when they performed in the Newport Music Festival, sing a wide variety of songs appealing to most age groups. Among their hit records are "We Can Fly," "The Rain, the Park and Other Things," "Indian Lake," "The Flower Girl" and their million-seller "Hair," which topped the pop charts for weeks.
Each of the six family members in the group adds his own individual touch to the musical sound and personality. The head of the family, and the only non-singer, Bud, serves as producer and supervisor. Barbara, the mother, and son Bob lead the group. Bob plays lead guitar, Barry plays bass, John does the drum work, Paul plays the organ, and young Susan is a vocalist.
Tickets go on sale today in the University Center Illinois Room, located on the second floor.
