Live performances by The Cowsills, the Newport family singing group that inspired “The Partridge Family” television series, will highlight the Second Annual Coors Take of Rhode Island Festival at the Newport Yachting Center on Sept. 29-30. The weekend festival offers cuisine from the state’s top restaurants and continuous entertainment, including performances by The Cowsills on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.

The original Cowsills, a pop-rock group of five siblings and their mother, were popular in the late 1960s. After a 20-year hiatus, four of the siblings have reunited for a comeback tour. In addition to The Cowsills, entertainment at this year’s Taste of Rhode Island Festival includes the Night Life Orchestra, Hamish Gunn and Dave Manuyel, Casino, and Paul Taylor The Magico-median. The popular Big Nazo Puppets and actors from Mrs. Astor’s Beechwood will stroll among the crowd and perform on state.
