Bill Cowsill of the Cowsills singing group finally has done what I expected and recorded a single act. It is an MGM stereo disc, “Nervous Breakthrough” (SE-4706). Bill does a fine job on his own. He plays bass as well as doing all the vocals – he is assisted by guitars, piano, organ and drums. He sounds better than most rock singers on “When Everybody’s Here,” “Nobody,” “I Only Want to be With You” and “The Shoop-Shoop song.” Does this mean that the Cowsills have broken up? We’ll see.
