In Canyon Cowsills To Do Concert On Oct. 28

CANYON (Special) - Music amiable to both generations will be the fare when The Cowsills, nationally-known family pop-rock group, performs Thursday, Oct. 28, at West Texas State University.

The Cowsills will appear at 8 p.m. in the Activities Center ballroom. The presentation is one in a series sponsored by the WTSU Student Activities Council.

Cowsills include mother, Barbara, and children Bob, 22; Paul, 19; Barry, 17; John, 15; and Susan, 12. Father Cowsill manages the troupe.

Joined One By One

The talented group entered the musical field one by one. At the age of seven, Bob joined older brother Bill and they performed as a duo. Barry came in later, first as a bongoist player and later switching to the bass guita4r after training youngest brother John as percussionist. The mother joined her progeny in 1967 for their first million-seller, "The Rain, the Park and Other Things." Paul made his debut as keyboard man on the Cowsills' second million-seller, "Hair." Sister Susan joined the Cowsill in time for their third hit, "We Can Fly."

Tickets for their WTSU appearance are priced at $2 for adults $1 for non-WTSU students. Admission is free to the WTSU students with ID cards, faculty and staff.
