SYRACUSE — A star-studded parade of free entertainment including the Cowsills, Young Americans and a giant three-ring circus, is offered at the State Fair.
A country and western music festival featuring such Grand Ole Opry stars as Hank Snow, Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, the Lennon Sisters, Four Saints, Happy Louie and his Polka Band and Carl Silfer's State Fair Orchestra are all on the program.
The free star shows including, Vaudeville Varieties '68 are 10:30 a.m., 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. with the Cowsills and their recent hit, “Indian Lake,” featured opening day, the Young Americans, Wednesday, and Thursday and the Lennon Sisters, Aug. 30, 31, and Sept. 1. The Four Saints and Happy Louie will be featured at 12:30 p.m., 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. every day.
A special hardwood dance floor has been constructed to increase Fairgoers’ enjoyment of musical programs.
The Hubert Castle Three Ring Circus will perform at the Grandstand at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
