A surprisingly large number of you got in touch to say you enjoyed the recent columns about summer songs – songs that were hits during the car-radio-and-jukebox era; songs that took you back to those certain summers.

“Indian Lake,” the Cowsills (1968): “A summer escape of packin’ up the car and heading for the lake. It’s a simple thought: Families go to the lake. It had that light, poppy, breezy Cowsills approach, which made it sound just the way it should.”
