Festival's Tent Shows Begin With Cowsills Family Tonight

The Barnum Festival society takes over operation of the Festival tent theater in Seaside park tonight for an 11-day stand of entertainment events which are part of the 20th annual Barnum Festival.
It will be the Festival's second season in the tent which the Barnum Festival society erected last June and then presented to the City of Bridgeport at the end of the 1967 Festival.
Tonight's Festival opener will be a production by the Cowsills, a family entertainment group whih has risen to musical fame in less than three years of professional engagements. Showtime is 8:30 p.m.
The Barnum Festival shows will continue tomorrow night with Jenny Lind concert in the tent theater at 8 o'clark and on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with Paul Anka as the star.
Rounding out the weekend in the Barnum Festival theater will be the Harry Simeone Chorale with the Bridgeport Symphon orchestra in a pops concert Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets for all Barnum Festival shows in the tent theater may be obtained at the theater box office in Seaside park. Telephone reservations will be accepted.
