A tribute to singer Billy Cowsill will be held in Calgary on May 18, three months to the day after he died. A much-loved figure on our music scene and one-time leader of the American pop group The Cowsills, Cowsill died of complications from emphysema, Cushing’s disease and osteoporosis.
At Knox United Church in downtown Calgary, his longtime friend Stewart MacDougall will host an event that includes performances from several of Cowsill’s musical associates. More information on the service will be forthcoming over the next week.
